The Green Bushpig was born in August 2000, the culmination of a dream conceived 3 years earlier. The concept was to provide authentic, ecologically responsible and environmentally-friendly African bushveld experiences to both local South Africans and overseas visitors to South Africa.
By 2007, Green Bushpig Safaris (GBS) had grown into a small but vibrant tourism services provider, offering:
Day visits in the Johannesburg and Pretoria region
Comprehensive multi-day photographic and eco-safaris
Accommodation and transfer services
Professional free-lance guiding services to other service providers
School and Youth training programmes
GBS is owned and operated by Russell Frankish, a dedicated, experienced and well qualified nature guide, who is extremely passionate about the African bushveld, and who is committed to sharing South Africa's fascinating natural and cultural heritage with like-minded folk of all backgrounds and nationalities.
Our vision is to be a preferred eco-safari provider by providing a full range of tourism services to discerning visitors to the Southern Africa region. We intend to do this by:
Providing guided eco-experiences to our guests, reflecting the highest ethical and professional standards
Maintaining excellent service standards and providing exceptional value for money
Supplying a range of high-quality tourism related products and services at realistic prices
Constantly seeking to promote responsible tourism is South Africa and our neighbouring regions in every reasonable and ethical way
Ensuring that our guides are enthusiastic, well-qualified, highly experienced, correctly accredited and registered, and passionate about Southern Africa's wildlife, people and cultural diversity
